Model application to the headmaster for a testimonial (certificate of character and study).
An application for a testimonial is written to the headmaster to obtain a certificate of one’s conduct and academic record after leaving school.
How to write it
- Open with the date, then the recipient block: “The Headmaster”, the school name and place.
- Add a Subject line requesting a testimonial, then the salutation “Sir”.
- In the body, state that you have passed the final examination and need a testimonial for higher studies.
- Close with “I remain, Sir, your obedient student”, then your name, class, roll and section.
