Dialogue About Water Pollution

Model dialogue on water pollution and how to prevent it — for SSC & HSC.

A dialogue between two friends about the causes of water pollution and how to keep water safe.

A dialogue between Nadia and Sumaiya

Nadia: Good morning, Sumaiya. How are you today?

Sumaiya: Good morning, Nadia. I am fine, but I am upset about the dirty water in our nearby river.

Nadia: I noticed it too. The water has turned black and it smells terrible. What do you think is polluting it?

Sumaiya: Mills and factories are dumping their toxic waste directly into the river without any treatment.

Nadia: That is true. People also throw household rubbish and plastic into the water every day.

Sumaiya: Farmers use chemical fertilisers and pesticides too, and the rain washes them into the rivers.

Nadia: How does this water pollution affect our lives?

Sumaiya: Polluted water spreads waterborne diseases like diarrhoea, cholera and typhoid. It also kills fish and other water animals.

Nadia: That is alarming. Clean water is essential for drinking, farming and daily use.

Sumaiya: Then what can we do to stop this pollution?

Nadia: Factories should treat their waste before releasing it, and dumping rubbish into rivers must be strictly banned.

Sumaiya: We should also raise awareness among people and encourage them to keep water sources clean.

Nadia: Yes, the government must take strong steps and punish those who pollute the water.

Sumaiya: You are right. If we all work together, we can save our rivers and stay healthy.

Nadia: Thank you for this meaningful talk, Sumaiya. Goodbye and have a nice day.
