A gift I was particularly proud of was a handmade photo album I gave my mother on her fiftieth birthday. Rather than buying something expensive, I spent weeks collecting old family photographs, many of them from her childhood, and arranged them with little handwritten notes beside each one. I chose it because my mother treasures memories far more than material things, and I wanted to give her something personal. When she opened it, she went completely quiet and then started crying — happy tears, thankfully. She said it was the most thoughtful present she’d ever received, and honestly, seeing her reaction meant more to me than any gift I could have bought.
