Study in Malta

An English-Speaking European Degree on the Mediterranean

Malta is an EU member in the Schengen area where English is an official language — so there is no new language to learn. Degrees follow the British tradition, the weather is sunny year-round, and the country is small and safe. From admission to visa, Shikkha Web is the best study abroad agency for Malta.

Our ServicesPaid Professional Service

From university selection and documents to the national (D) visa and residence permit — as Bangladesh’s best study abroad agency for Malta, we manage the whole journey.

Free Profile Assessment

University of Malta, MCAST or a private college — we identify the most realistic option for your grades, budget and career goals.

Documents, Apostille & Equivalence

Apostille of transcripts and certificates, plus qualification equivalence through MQRIC (Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre), which admission in Malta often requires.

Application & Offer Letter

Multiple applications, a personal statement and references, managed through to an unconditional offer letter and confirmation of enrolment.

Funds, Accommodation & Insurance

Proof of about €9,000–€10,000 for the first year, confirmed accommodation in Malta and health insurance with at least €30,000 cover — all three are visa conditions.

National (D) Visa & Residence Permit

The long-stay national (D) visa application and, after arrival, the residence permit application with Identità — full document and appointment support at both stages.

Pre-Departure & Arrival Support

Practical advice on flights, shared apartments and — after arrival — a bank account, Jobsplus registration and starting work.

Work Rights & Opportunities

Understand the work rules while studying in Malta, your family’s options and the terms of the post-study job-search permit.

20 Hours a Week After 13 Weeks

Non-EU students may normally work up to 20 hours a week once they have completed their first 13 weeks in Malta. This requires an employment licence from Jobsplus, which the employer usually applies for on your behalf.

Spouse & Family Options

Family reunification is limited while you are a student and carries strict income, accommodation and insurance conditions. The realistic route is to bring family after you move onto a Single Permit (work + residence) following graduation, at which point work options open up for a spouse too.

6–12 Month Post-Study Job-Search Permit

After a Maltese degree you can get a temporary residence permit to look for work — usually six months at bachelor level and twelve months at MQF level 7/8 (master’s/MBA). With a job it converts into a Single Permit combining work and residence. Deadlines are strict, so start as soon as your final results are published.
