Dhaka University Admission Circular 2026-27: Apply from 11 November, Tests 5–26 December

Dhaka University's undergraduate admission schedule for 2026-27 is out: applications run online from noon on 11 November to 11:59 PM on 25 November, and the five unit tests fall between 5 and 26 December. First-year classes begin on 28 March 2027.

Students who passed SSC in 2021–2024 and HSC in 2026 can apply — there is no second attempt. The total is 120: 100 from the test and 20 from SSC and HSC results. The fee, seat matrix and the formula behind those 20 marks will come in the full circular, due before applications open.

The five units at a glance

Each unit has its own page with the full detail — marks, pass marks, last year's competition and preparation advice; links to all five are at the end of this page.

GPA figures are SSC and HSC combined; each exam separately needs at least 3.50 for science students and 3.00 for others. Fine Arts needs 3.00 in each for everyone.

What is new this year

• A separate English-medium paper in the Science Unit — approved by the syndicate on 31 August 2026.
• Applications open on 11 November — about two weeks later than last year (29 October), because the HSC 2026 result is expected in the first half of November.
• The three general units are tested in Dhaka and seven divisional centres; Fine Arts and IBA in Dhaka only.

How to apply

1. Sign in at admission.eis.du.ac.bd with your SSC and HSC roll numbers, boards and passing years.
2. The portal shows the units you qualify for — each carries its own fee.
3. Pay the fee by mobile banking and submit your photo and details.
4. Download the admit card from the same portal before the test; it names your centre.

How competitive it was last year

In 2025-26 about 266,000 applications came in for about 6,125 DU seats — fewer than the roughly 329,000 of 2024-25, as the HSC pass rate fell and there was no second attempt. 7.46% passed the Science Unit and 7.29% the Arts, Law and Social Science Unit.

If DU does not work out, the same season keeps many doors open: medical and Khulna University in December; Rajshahi, Jahangirnagar, Chittagong and the agriculture cluster in January; and the 20-university GST cluster in March. If the sea and shipping interest you, look at Bangladesh Maritime University separately.
