No, it is not mandatory. France offers more than 1,900 fully English-taught programmes, especially at master’s level and in business schools, where IELTS 6.0–6.5 is enough. French-taught programmes require DELF/TCF B2. That said, learning French to at least A2/B1 is strongly recommended for part-time work and daily life.
