The GST (General, Science and Technology) admission test is a joint exam run by Bangladesh’s general and science-technology universities. One application and one test open the door to nearly two dozen universities.
Its biggest advantage is the saving in cost and hardship — no travelling city to city for exam after exam.
The three units and their marks
The test is 100 MCQs for 100 marks in one hour, with a pass mark of 30. Each unit has its own subject split.

Eligibility and fee
- The application fee is around BDT 1,500, covering every university in one go.
- The official site is gstadmission.ac.bd, which carries the current circular, list and results.
- Science students may also apply to units B or C where that is permitted.

The cluster process, step by step
- Apply online at gstadmission.ac.bd and pay the fee.
- Choose your centre — applying early improves your chance of getting the one you want.
- Download the admit card on the stated date and sit your unit’s exam.
- After results and the merit list, submit your ordered university-and-subject preferences within the window.
- A university and subject are allotted from your merit position and preferences; confirm within the deadline.
- With migration on, later rounds can move you up to a higher preference.
How to order your preferences
- Think of the university and the subject together, and order by your interest in the subject, not just the name.
- Factor in distance from home and living costs — you will be there for four years.
- Find out how far down the merit order each university filled last year.
- Make the list as long as you can — trimming your options raises the risk of getting nothing.
