Study in Austria

A Tuition-Free European Degree for Bangladeshi Students

Austrian law (the Studienbeitragsverordnung) lists Bangladesh among the least developed countries, so Bangladeshi degree students receive a full tuition waiver at public universities — you pay only the ÖH fee of about €26 per semester, and the waiver is applied automatically with no separate application. Vienna is ranked year after year as the world’s most liveable city. For the residence permit, applications and scholarships, Shikkha Web is the best study abroad agency for Austria.

Our ServicesPaid Professional Service

From university selection and document legalisation to the Austrian residence permit — as Bangladesh’s best study abroad agency for Austria, we are with you at every step.

Free Profile Assessment

A shortlist of public universities, Fachhochschulen (universities of applied sciences) or private institutions, and English- or German-taught programmes matched to your grades and budget.

Document Legalisation & Recognition

Full guidance on apostille/legalisation of Bangladeshi transcripts and certificates, German translation, and degree recognition (Nostrifizierung) where required.

Application & Admission Letter

Multiple applications, motivation letter and CV, managed through to your letter of admission (Zulassungsbescheid).

Tuition Waiver, Funds & Insurance

We make sure your tuition waiver as a Bangladeshi national is applied correctly at enrolment, and guide you on proving about €12,000 a year, a blocked or savings account, student dorms and ÖGK or private health insurance.

Student Residence Permit Filing

Austria issues no classic student visa — you apply for an Aufenthaltsbewilligung–Studierende residence permit. We handle the appointment at the Austrian embassy in New Delhi, forms and document submission.

Pre-Departure & Arrival Support

Practical advice on flights, housing, the Meldezettel (city registration), opening a bank account and settling into student life.

Work Rights & Opportunities

Understand the work rules while studying in Austria, your family’s options and the route to the Red-White-Red Card.

20 Hours per Week While Studying

Non-EU students may work up to 20 hours a week; the employer obtains an employment permit (Beschäftigungsbewilligung) for you. Compulsory internships are often treated separately from this limit.

Spouse & Family Options

With proof of income, accommodation and health insurance, a spouse and children can join you on a residence permit. Once you move onto the Red-White-Red Card after graduation, the family route to a “Red-White-Red Card plus” — which carries full work rights — opens up.

12 Months Post-Study + Red-White-Red Card

After an Austrian degree you can get a 12-month residence permit to look for work. With a qualified job offer you move onto the Rot-Weiß-Rot Karte (Red-White-Red Card), which combines work and residence rights and leads towards permanent residence.
