BCS eligibility is comparatively simple — a bachelor’s degree and an age limit. But a few small conditions catch people out, particularly the date on which age is counted and which degree each cadre demands.

Age limits and application conditions have changed by government decision and may change again. Confirm what applies to you only from the current BCS circular at bpsc.gov.bd.
The application steps
- Go to bpsc.teletalk.com.bd and begin BPSC Form-1.
- Enter your academic details exactly as on your certificates — no mismatch in name or date of birth.
- Submit your cadre preferences — these cannot be changed later.
- Upload your photo and signature in the exact specified sizes.
- After submitting you receive a user ID; pay the fee by Teletalk SMS.
- Keep a copy of the application and your PIN — you need them for the admit card.
Mistakes that invalidate an application
- A name or date of birth that does not match your certificates.
- A photo or signature of the wrong dimensions or file size.
- Not paying the fee, or paying after the deadline — an unpaid application stays incomplete.
- Applying for a technical cadre without the required degree.
- Giving false information — certificate verification at the viva cancels your candidacy.
Frequently asked questions
General cadres usually set no CGPA condition — a bachelor’s degree is enough to apply. Some technical cadres may set subject conditions, so check the circular.
As many times as circulars appear while you remain within the age limit — in practice the age limit decides the number of attempts.
Some BCS cycles allow final-year candidates to apply on condition that results are submitted within a set period. The condition is stated in each circular.
