A skill I’m really glad I learned is touch-typing. I taught myself during my first year at university, mostly through free online practice programs, because I was frustrated at how slowly I wrote my assignments. At first it was surprisingly hard — I made constant mistakes and was actually slower for a few weeks, which was discouraging. But I stuck with fifteen minutes of practice every day, and within a couple of months it became automatic. It’s been enormously useful ever since: I can now write essays and emails far faster, and it’s a skill I rely on daily in almost everything I do on a computer.
After your long turn, the examiner asks deeper questions such as:

Aim for the full 1–2 minutes. Cover every bullet point and keep talking naturally until the examiner stops you.
