“I’d imagine some will, simply because machines can now do them faster and more cheaply. That said, I don’t think they’ll vanish entirely — there’s a growing appreciation for handmade, traditional crafts precisely because they’re rare. So while everyday skills like handwriting may fade, specialised ones could actually become more valued.”
IELTS Speaking Part 3
Part 3 is a 4–5 minute discussion of abstract, opinion-based questions connected to your Part 2 topic. This is where you show higher-level language: comparing, speculating, and justifying views.
Useful frameworks
- Give opinion → reason → example → (counter-view).
- Speculate: “It might be because…”, “I’d imagine that…”.
- Compare: “Whereas in the past…, nowadays…”.
Part 1 is about you and familiar topics; Part 3 is abstract and analytical. Give longer, more reasoned answers and don’t be afraid to explore both sides.
