Overview
The Australia Awards Scholarship is a fully funded master’s scholarship from the Australian government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). It prepares Bangladeshi professionals to study in Australia and contribute to national development priorities (health, governance, environment, inclusive economy).
It is a development-focused scholarship — alongside academic results, leadership, professional experience and potential to contribute to development are assessed. Women, people with disability and applicants from marginalised groups are strongly encouraged.
What the scholarship covers

- Contribution to living expenses and an arrival establishment allowance
- Return air travel Bangladesh–Australia
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
- An introductory academic program and supplementary support if needed
Eligibility
- Be a citizen of Bangladesh, applying from Bangladesh
- Have a qualification at least equivalent to an Australian bachelor’s degree
- Meet English requirements (IELTS Academic 6.5, no band below 6.0)
- Agree to return home for at least 2 years after study
