Bangladesh Affairs is among the largest sections of the preliminary and the widest. The good news is that most of it is settled fact — organise it properly once and you are not relearning it every cycle.

Six parts, six ways of reading

Treated as one subject this feels shapeless. Split it and each part shows its own character, and it becomes obvious where your hours should go.

The Liberation War — the highest-yield part

Measured by question density, hours spent on the Liberation War return more than anywhere else. Chronology, the sector structure, the government-in-exile, key figures and key documents — hold those five and you cover almost everything asked.

Hold the events in sequence rather than by date. If you know what followed what, a forgotten date does not cost you the answer.

The constitution — the text, not a digest

Digests do poorly on the constitution, because questions often follow the wording of the articles. Reading the parts, schedules and important articles once from the actual text is much safer.

• Separate the fundamental rights from the fundamental principles.
• Note the amendments in order on a single page.
• Which article covers what — that mapping is what gets asked.

How to handle current events

This part changes by nature, so the source is a newspaper rather than a book. Reading one national daily and writing each significant item into your own notebook in a single line is the method that lasts.

Economic and population figures are revised every year. Before committing any number to memory, verify it against the latest publication from BBS or the relevant ministry.
