A dialogue between Mira and Sadia
Mira: Hello Sadia. Did you read the newspaper report about the polluted river in our city?
Sadia: Hi Mira. Yes, I did. It is really alarming. Environment pollution has become a serious problem these days.
Mira: You are right. But do you know exactly what environment pollution means?
Sadia: Yes. When the air, water, and soil around us become dirty and harmful, we call it environment pollution.
Mira: Correct. What do you think are the main causes of this pollution?
Sadia: There are many causes. Smoke from factories and vehicles pollutes the air, and waste from mills pollutes the rivers.
Mira: True. Cutting down trees carelessly also harms the environment a lot.
Sadia: Absolutely. And throwing polythene bags and household waste here and there pollutes the soil and water.
Mira: How does this pollution affect our lives?
Sadia: It causes many diseases and destroys the balance of nature. Polluted air and water make people seriously ill.
Mira: That is worrying. So what can we do to stop pollution?
Sadia: We should plant more trees, use clean fuel, and keep our surroundings tidy. Factories must clean their waste before dumping it.
Mira: And we should stop using polythene and raise awareness among people, especially the young ones.
Sadia: Exactly. If we all work together, we can surely make our environment clean and safe.
Mira: Well said, Sadia. Let us begin by planting a few trees in our school garden.
Sadia: That is a wonderful idea. Thank you for the lovely talk, Mira.
