Dialogue About the Importance of Tree Plantation

Model dialogue on the importance of tree plantation — for SSC & HSC.

A dialogue between two friends about why planting trees is important for the environment.

A dialogue between Nadia and Faria

Nadia: Hello Faria! Where are you going with those small plants?

Faria: Hello Nadia. I am going to our school garden to plant some trees.

Nadia: That is wonderful. But why are you so interested in tree plantation?

Faria: Because trees are very important for our life. They give us oxygen, which we need to breathe.

Nadia: Yes, that is true. Do they help the environment in other ways?

Faria: Of course. Trees take in carbon dioxide and keep the air fresh. They also reduce heat and prevent air pollution.

Nadia: I did not know all that. What about natural disasters?

Faria: Trees hold the soil with their roots and stop soil erosion. They also protect us from floods and cyclones.

Nadia: That is amazing. So trees give us many benefits.

Faria: Yes. Besides, they give us fruit, wood, medicine and shade. Birds and animals also live on them.

Nadia: Then everyone should plant more trees. How can we encourage people?

Faria: We can arrange tree-plantation programmes and make people aware of their value, especially during the rainy season.

Nadia: That is a great idea. May I join you and plant a tree too?

Faria: Certainly! Come along. Thank you for your interest. Let us go together.
