Re-scrutiny at HSC is a different decision from SSC, because every subject sits in two papers. Saying "I will apply for this subject" means two applications and two fees, while the error is usually in one paper only.

Choosing the paper

The marksheet shows the two papers separately, and that is what the decision should rest on. Apply only for the paper where your preparation was sound but the mark is unexpectedly low. Applying for both is defensible only where the whole result is out of line with your preparation — otherwise the second application is just cost.
