It can. The practical centre is shown separately on the admit card, so check it in advance.

Do I need the admit card on practical days?

Yes. Do not put it away when the theory papers end — you need it until the practicals are finished.

An HSC admit card carries more information than an SSC one, because each subject’s two papers are listed separately and the practical examination details are included as well.

How it reaches you

The admit card goes from the board to the college, and the college hands it out. It is not something you download individually, so avoid links advertising an "admit card download". Anything outstanding on form fill-up, fees or the selection-exam condition can hold it up.

The checklist

Spelling of your name and parents’ names — exactly as on the certificates.
Subject and paper codes — is each subject’s pair listed?
The optional subject’s code — the commonest place for an error.
The practical centre — it can differ from the theory centre.
Roll and registration number.
Whether the photograph and seal are clear.

Why a code error is the most dangerous

A misspelled name can be corrected afterwards, but sitting an exam under the wrong subject code turns into a problem on the result sheet, and correcting it becomes a long and uncertain process. The exposure is greater at HSC, because there is a code for the paper as well as the subject — twice as many places to go wrong. Check the codes against your registration card on the day you receive it.
