You cannot enter the exam hall without your admit card — it is the single most important document of the exam. It carries your roll number, registration number, centre and every subject code. Check every detail the day you receive it, because there is very little time to fix an error.
When and where you get it
- The board sends admit cards to institutions; students collect theirs from their own institution.
- They are usually distributed 7–15 days before the exams begin.
- Carry your registration card alongside the admit card — you need both at the centre.
- Keep the admit card safe until every exam is over — you need it for the practicals too.
Six things to verify the moment you get it
- The spelling of your name — it must match the registration card and birth registration exactly.
- The spelling of your parents’ names.
- Your roll number and registration number.
- That your group (Science, Business Studies or Humanities) is right.
- Every subject and subject code — especially that the fourth subject is recorded correctly.
- The name and address of your exam centre.
Report any error to your institution the same day. A mistake in the fourth subject in particular throws off the whole GPA calculation.
What you may take into the hall
- Your admit card and registration card (mandatory).
- Pens, pencil, eraser and sharpener — carry at least two pens.
- Ruler, compass and geometry box (for maths and science subjects).
- A board-approved simple calculator, in the subjects where one is allowed.
- A transparent water bottle.
What is strictly banned
- Mobile phones — merely bringing one into the centre can get you expelled.
- Smartwatches and any electronic device.
- Programmable or scientific calculators where they are not allowed.
- Books, notes, scraps of paper or anything with writing on it.
- Anyone else’s admit card or documents.
Being caught cheating cancels that exam, and the board can impose harsher penalties — including a ban from sitting exams for one or more years.
