Ernst Mach Grant — Research in Austria
A one- to nine-month stay in Austria for PhD students, postgraduates, postdocs and researchers. Note the constraint: extensions are not possible, so the plan has to be right from the start.

Overview
The Ernst Mach Grant is administered by OeAD, Austria’s agency for education and internationalisation. Its “worldwide” strand is open to PhD students, postgraduates, postdocs and researchers based at universities outside Austria, across every field of study.
It does not fund a degree, and that distinction matters more than anything else here. The grant covers a research stay of one to nine months, and it cannot be extended. Bangladeshi degree students at Austria’s public universities already hold a tuition waiver, so Ernst Mach is best understood as a complement to research rather than a substitute for a degree.

No. The Ernst Mach Grant funds a research stay of at most nine months and cannot be extended. A full degree is a separate route into Austria’s public universities — where Bangladeshi degree students already benefit from a tuition waiver.
