The HSC 2028 batch has just entered college, and this is when a few decisions get made whose effect shows up in the result two years later.
Subject selection, board registration and — most importantly — establishing the habit of running board and university admission preparation together.
What happens in class 11

The shape of the two years
Class 11 is for the 1st papers, the first half of class 12 for the 2nd papers, and the second half of class 12 for revision and exam practice — a division that matches most colleges’ teaching order and depends on no announcement.
What has not been published
The routine for the 2028 exam, the final syllabus decision and the mark distribution have none of them been published, and would not be two years out. Anything circulating under those names now has no basis.
What to do now
- Choose the optional subject by admission eligibility, not by what looks easy.
- Check name, date of birth and subject codes on the registration papers.
- Drill the multiple-choice questions of each chapter as you finish it.
- Start a condensed notebook of formulas and definitions now.
