Cumilla Cadet College admission circular 2026-27 — where it stands
No Class XI seats or GPA appear here — a cadet college does not run that admission. The current Class VII intake is not written either: the numbers on the college’s page are from 1984–85, four decades ago, and presenting those as today’s intake would be wrong.
About Cumilla Cadet College
This institution too was converted from a Residential Model School, one that had started in 1968. The conversion was not quick here: in the college’s own words it was "complex and time-consuming", running from July 1983 to June 1986 — nearly three years.
The first 151 cadets began classes on 5 April 1984, and two days later, on 7 April, Major General M. A. Samad unveiled the inauguration plaque. By admitting into classes VII and IX together that same year, the cadet strength reached 300 by 1985.
Cumilla Cadet College — intake at Class VII

| Annual intake at Class VII | not published | The history page gives only its founding figures — 151 cadets in 1984 and 300 by 1985 — not a current annual intake |
These are the current structure figures and can change with the new circular.
Can you join Cumilla Cadet College in Class XI?
The short answer is no. A cadet college recruits only into Class VII, and those cadets carry on to Class XII — so the Class XI places are already filled. There is no route in from outside after SSC, and no cadet college appears in the central Class XI roster (we checked all 5,134 institutions across 9 general boards and 66 districts on 2 September 2026 — not one is there).
| What people search for | The actual answer |
|---|---|
| Minimum GPA for Class XI | প্রযোজ্য নয় — একাদশে ভর্তি নেই / Not applicable — there is no Class XI intake |
| Any route in after SSC | নেই / None |
| The class it does admit into | ৭ম শ্রেণি / Class VII |
How students actually get into Cumilla Cadet College
Entry to Cumilla Cadet College is at Class VII, through a single national entrance examination rather than an application to one college. The form is at cadetcollegeadmission.army.mil.bd, and the order of preferred cadet colleges is given there.
Selection runs in stages — a written examination first, then a viva for those who pass, and a medical examination. Each stage must be cleared separately; failing one ends the process there.
The application is made once for all cadet colleges together, not to any single one. Which college a selected candidate goes to is settled by the result and by preference.
Since 2003 every cadet college has taught the English version of the national curriculum, so after admission the textbooks are the national ones, taught in English.

Frequently asked questions
You cannot. Admission is only into Class VII. For Class XI in Cumilla, the institutions in the central application — Comilla Victoria Govt. College among them — are the options.
At Kotbari on the Lalmai hills — one kilometre south of Cumilla Cantonment and about eight kilometres west of the city. A cadet college is residential, so daily travel does not arise.
The current figure is not on the college’s page. The numbers it does give — 151 in 1984 and 300 by 1985 — are from its founding, not today. Presenting an old number as a current one is against this site’s rules.
The college’s history page calls the work "complex and time-consuming" but does not set out why. What is certain is the span — July 1983 to June 1986. The reason has not been guessed at here.
