In two steps: first register on the Indian High Commission in Dhaka’s Suborno Jayanti portal (sjsdhaka.gov.in), then complete the full application on ICCR’s A2A portal (a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in). Reverse that order and your application does not count against the Bangladesh quota. Message us on WhatsApp for help choosing universities and subjects.

Overview
The ICCR scholarship is part of India’s cultural diplomacy, and by volume it is one of the largest foreign government scholarships open to Bangladesh. It funds bachelor’s, master’s and PhD study at India’s government and public universities, with tuition and a monthly stipend.
There is an extra step for Bangladeshi candidates, and it is where most applications go wrong: you must first register on the Indian High Commission in Dhaka’s Suborno Jayanti portal, and only then on ICCR’s A2A portal. Applying on A2A alone does not place you in the Bangladesh quota.
What the scholarship covers
- Full tuition at India’s government and public universities
- A monthly stipend of roughly ₹18,000 to ₹25,000, scaled by degree level
- A house-rent allowance or hall accommodation
- Research and thesis allowances, plus medical cover
- Cultural proximity — staying within the subcontinent makes the adjustment far gentler than a move west
Eligibility
- Bangladeshi citizenship, with residence in Bangladesh at the time of applying
- The preceding qualification completed — a bachelor’s for master’s entry, a master’s for PhD entry
- Ability to study through English, with a medium-of-instruction certificate where asked
- A subject that is not excluded — medicine, paramedical fields such as nursing and physiotherapy, fashion, law and integrated programmes are outside ICCR

No. Medicine and paramedical subjects such as nursing, physiotherapy and anaesthesia sit outside ICCR, as do fashion, law and integrated programmes. Studying medicine in India is a separate and generally self-funded route.
