Overview
Türkiye Bursları is the Turkish government’s largest international scholarship programme. Its distinguishing feature is the single application: you apply once and are considered across multiple universities and programmes, rather than applying to each institution separately.
The package is unusually complete: tuition at public universities, free accommodation in state dormitories, a monthly stipend, health insurance for the full duration, a one-way flight ticket, and a year of Turkish language tuition — provided even when your degree itself is taught in English.
What the scholarship covers
- Full tuition at public Turkish universities
- A monthly stipend of ₺4,500 at bachelor’s, ₺6,500 at master’s and ₺9,000 at doctoral level
- Free accommodation in state-run dormitories
- Health insurance for the whole period of study, and a one-way international flight ticket
- A fully funded one-year Turkish language preparatory course
Eligibility
- Not a Turkish citizen, and not previously enrolled in Türkiye at the level applied for
- Age limits — under 21 for bachelor’s, 30 for master’s and 35 for doctoral applicants
- Minimum academic results — 70% for bachelor’s, 75% for postgraduate and 90% for medical applicants
- Having completed, or being on track to complete, the relevant qualification that year

Usually yes. The one-year Turkish course is part of the programme and is given to all scholars regardless of the language their degree is taught in. It makes a large difference to daily life, part-time work and internships.
