Holy Cross College began in 1950, established by the Sisters of the Holy Cross, a Catholic congregation of women religious. It takes only girls, and teaches Classes XI and XII.

The campus is in Tejgaon, walking distance from the Farmgate intersection and reachable by bus from both north and south Dhaka. The seat split leans heavily toward Science: it carries more seats than Business Studies and Humanities put together.

The same congregation also runs Holy Cross Girls’ High School in Dhaka, and the two names are close enough that people confuse them. The school runs to Class X; if you are looking for a Class XI circular, it is the college’s address you want.

One thing is worth knowing about preparing for it: doing well in a multiple-choice paper depends far less on learning anything new than on answering quickly and without slips. Timed MCQ practice, chapter by chapter through the SSC books, is the most direct preparation there is.
