Admit Card and Exam-Day Rules

Unlike a board exam, nobody hands you an admission-test admit card — you download and print it yourself. Missing the window, or turning up with the wrong printout, means not sitting the test.

Downloading the admit card

  1. The download link opens on a set date on the admission website — note the date from the circular.
  2. Log in with the user ID or PIN issued at application, plus your mobile number.
  3. Download the PDF and take at least two colour printouts.
  4. Check the photo and text are sharp — a blurred printout causes trouble at the centre.
  5. Keep a copy on your phone too, but never rely on the phone alone.

What to verify on it

  • That your name and photo are correct.
  • Your roll or application number and your unit.
  • The date and time of the test.
  • The centre, building and room number where given.
  • The instructions section listing what to bring on the day.

If anything on the admit card is wrong, contact the admission helpline immediately — there is no fixing it on the morning of the test.

What to take, and what to leave behind

TakeDo not take
Colour printouts of the admit card (two)Mobile phone and smartwatch
Your SSC/HSC registration card or IDA calculator where it is banned
Black ballpoint pens (at least two) and a pencilBooks, notes or written paper
Eraser and sharpenerA bag — many centres do not allow one
A transparent water bottleAny electronic device

Security at admission centres is far stricter than at a board exam. Being found with a device can mean a cancelled test and legal action.

Getting to the centre

  1. If the centre is in another city, arrive at least a day early and arrange accommodation in advance.
  2. Scout the centre the day before — which gate, which building, how long the journey takes.
  3. On the day, reach the centre at least an hour early — traffic is worse than usual on test days.
  4. Eat lightly — neither on an empty stomach nor an overfull one.
  5. Sleep properly the night before rather than learning anything new — alertness and speed are what count.
