As of 26 September 2026, Dhaka Central University (DCU) has announced no circular, dates or eligibility for 2026-27 undergraduate admission. Its first cycle, for the 2025-26 session, ran from June to August 2026; if the next follows the same rhythm, applications would come around mid-2027 — an expectation on our part, not an announcement.

DCU is the former seven colleges under a new name: Dhaka College, Eden Mohila College, Government Titumir College, Government Bangla College, Begum Badrunnesa Government Girls’ College, Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College and Kabi Nazrul Government College. It was set up by the Dhaka Central University Ordinance 2026, issued on 8 February 2026. This page sets out last cycle’s rules in full and links each unit’s own page.

From seven colleges to a university — what changed

The seven colleges used to be affiliated with the University of Dhaka, which also ran their honours admission test. Since the ordinance, admission belongs to DCU itself: its own website (dcu.bd), its own admission portal (dcuadmission.com), three units of its own and its own pass rules. Candidates apply to one university, and the college campus where classes happen is settled with the subject allotment.

Eligibility, fee and pass rules (2025-26)

• SSC 2020 to 2023 and HSC 2024 or 2025 — so second-timers were eligible.
• A combined SSC + HSC GPA of at least 6.50, fourth subject included.
• An application fee of Tk 800.
• Pass: 40 overall and at least 5 in the part linked to the chosen subject.

Two versions of the GPA rule exist: news reports give a combined 6.50 for every stream, while dcu.bd lists 7.0 for science, 6.0 for humanities and 6.5 for business. We show the reported 6.50; the 2026-27 circular will settle it.

Seats and applicants — the first cycle

News reports give 11,290 seats in total, matching the sum of the three units; DCU’s website says 11,150. We use 11,290. With fewer than six applicants per seat on average — far below DU or JnU — the obstacle was not places but the pass mark: three in four failed the science unit and two in three the business unit.

Kabi Nazrul Government College and the other campuses
